Welcome back all, really happy to have you here for another podcast and a somewhat momentous one, Episode 50! In addition to being a numerical milestone it’s also a mix I’m very excited about and have been working on for a long time, The Queer Voices of Soul at 45rpm! The mix does include a few jazz and blues singers but I’m not going to apologize, they’re great records and directly connected to the material usually covered here. It’s also a good opportunity to elevate some of the often overlooked queer voices in musical history.
This mix was tough to pare down and I’m already preparing a volume two which may similarly expand the traditional boundaries of the blog to include some blues singers, some artists into the late 70s and maybe a few more ‘rock’ oriented artists. But that’s then, lets stick to now! I hope you enjoy the mix and would love to hear your thoughts. Follow me at @musicalepisode on Instagram for daily posts and probably the easiest way to interact.
Peace,
-George / Snack Attack
