Welcome back for another Musical Episode. A quick heads up, this week’s podcast has a slight change with the addition of me hosting the podcast. I likely will not be doing this for every podcast going forward but I wanted to be able to talk a little bit about the records today since we’re focusingi in on one artist- the lovely Barbara Acklin. I would appreciate any feedback, especially if you find my talking irritating or unlistenable. I’ve considered posting the mix with no hosting too, thats an option for the future. Anyhow, enough about that!

Today’s mix follows the recording and writing career of the incredibly talented Chicago artist Barbara Acklin. This mix is an hour of 45s that either feature Barbara singing or songs she wrote that other artists recorded. The majority of these records are Chicago artists and out of the Brunswick roster which was her home base when she started as a Secretary in the late 60’s until she left for Capitol as an artist in the late 70s.

Hope you enjoy this mix and the addition of me talking. We’ll be back next Friday with another podcast.

Peace,
-George / Snack Attack
